NBA Rumors: Houston Rockets Players Admit Their Culture Is "A Mess"

The Houston Rockets are the youngest team in the league. Their starting lineup averages less than 22 years of age. But that's no excuse for the disappointing regression the team has experienced this season. In fact, according to ESPN's Jonathon Givony, even Rockets players on the team have admitted to him, "We are a mess."

“When you talk to people around the NBA about Houston, you just don’t hear good things about their culture, about their locker room... You talk to people that are ON THAT TEAM, they're like 'we're a mess.'"

Givony added, on The Lowe Post podcast today, that the team should fire head coach Stephen Silas and simply "get rid of" their starting off guard Kevin Porter Jr.—"just cut him... And you're sending a signal to the league that we're going to do things differently from here on out."

And he wasn't any kinder when speaking of their 2021 No. 2 pick in the draft Jalen Green.

"I'm worried about Jalen Green because I just haven't seen any improvement in his decision-making and his defense since he entered the league... I'm worried about the trajectory that he's on."

The Rockets currently sit dead last in the NBA at 13-45 after finishing in the same cellar-dwelling spot last season at 20-62.
