Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker Shreds Oklahoma City Thunder in Blowout Win

The Phoenix Suns overcame a fateful pregame injury to Kevin Durant to demolish the Oklahoma City Thunder 132-101 on Wednesday night. Devin Booker proved absolutely unstoppable, compiling 44 points, three rebounds, and four assists.

Durant reportedly sprained his ankle before the game, but it didn't matter for at least one night. Booker hit an amazing 17 of his 23 field goal attempts, including six of 10 from three. It was his fourth-straight game with 35+ points. For the season, he's averaging 27.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game with a .593 true shooting percentage.

The Suns are 37-29 and fourth in the Western Conference, but their potential as a title contender will depend entirely on Durant's status. The 13-time All-Star has only appeared in three games for the Suns since arriving with the team via a monumental trade with the Brooklyn Nets, but the results have been promising: he scored 37 points in a dramatic win over the Dallas Mavericks on March 5th. Unfortunately, a healthy return can't be taken for granted in this phase of his career. It's possible we won't see the true potency of the new-look Suns this season.
