Former Golden State Warriors NBA Champion Retires From Basketball

After seven years in the NBA, and a regular rotation spot on the 2022 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, Serbian big man Nemanja Bjelica is calling it quits at the age of 35.

Bjelica has been battling injuries, which kept him out of the NBA last season and limited him to just eight games overseas.

A calf injury kept him out for months last year, and now a "new" calf problem was going to delay his start to the new season in Belgrade, so he's made the decision that enough was enough.

In addition to helping the Warriors to the NBA title in 2022, he also was named the 2015 EuroLeague MVP and had NBA stints with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat in addition to the Dubs.

The 6'10" big man finished his NBA career with 7.6 points and 4.6 rebounds across 449 games, averaging 20 minutes a night.
