Golden State Warriors Sign Former Bulls Starting Forward

The Golden State Warriors are shuffling their roster as we get nearer to the opening of the regular season. They've signed the former starting forward of the Chicago Bulls, Javonte Green.

Green landed a starting role for the Bulls for 45 of his 65 games in the 2021-22 season, and slid to a bench role last year in which a knee problem limited him to just 32 games. The swingman averaged 6.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in his 2½ seasons in Chicago, averaging 19 minutes per game, and spent a year and a half with the Boston Celtics before that, playing a much smaller role. He also played internationally in Spain, Italy and Germany before coming to the NBA.

The move was part of a slew of transactions as the Warriors look to reshape their depth roles for the coming season. They also signed Yuri Collins, while waiving Donovan Williams, Javan Johnson and Kendric Davis. It's expected that all five of those players, including Green, will start the year with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League.
