Top 15 Still Available NBA Free Agents

Teams are now well into their seasons, and getting a feel for what they have and what they might need going forward. There's still a list of some viable names on the existing and available free agent list of players.

Here are the top 15 most notable still-unemployed NBAers:

Big Men:

  • Nerlens Noel, C
  • Taj Gibson, C/PF
  • DeMarcus Cousins, C
  • Blake Griffin, F
  • James Johnson, F
  • Stanley Johnson, F

While Cousins sat out all of last season, the others all made some sort of valued contributions to their teams at one point or another. Gibson was a final training camp cut by the Washington Wizards this fall, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him resurface with the New York Knicks, where he's had three different stints as a Tom Thibodeau favorite (Chicago, Minnesota, and New York).

Forwards:
  • Rudy Gay, F
  • Jeremy Lamb, F
  • TJ Warren, F
  • Hamidou Diallo, F/G

Warren, just 30, is a former first-rounder who averaged close to 20 PPG as recently as 2020. A foot injury cost him the entire 2021-22 season, and he spent last year with the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns trying to get his game back.
The 25-year-old Diallo seemed like a viable part of the Detroit Pistons future at one point, and he, too, was waived by the Wizards this fall.

Guards
  • Michael Carter-Williams, G
  • Terrence Ross, G
  • Austin Rivers, G
  • George Hill, G
  • John Wall, G

John Wall, 33, still wants another chance after being cut by the LA Clippers last season. Terrence Ross can still possibly provide a three-point boost to a team needing spacing, while Rivers and Hill could be viable point guards off the bench for a team in need.
