Breaking: Knicks Sign 14-Year Veteran Free Agent Forward

The New York Knicks have made a move to fortify their frontcourt, signing 14-year veteran and all-time Tom Thibodeau favorite Taj Gibson.

It’s a guaranteed deal for the rest of the season.

Gibson spent three years with the Knicks from 2019 to 2022. He was also with Thibodeau with the Chicago Bulls from 2010 through 2015 providing toughness and a key defensive presence at centre and power forward.

The 38 year old will provide a boost for a frontline that just lost starting center Mitchell Robinson to left ankle surgery that will keep him out for two to three months.

Gibson spent last season with the Washington Wizards, but had been unsigned to this point this year.

He’ll now enter his 15th season, with career averages of 8.7 points and 5.9 rebounds.
