NBA Rumors: 5 Washington Wizards Generate Trade Interest

The Washington Wizards really have the Detroit Pistons to thank. Without Detroit's utterly ridiculous 25-game losing streak, the Wiz would be the main dumping ground of NBA observers, with their 5-23 mark.

Nevertheless, as they look to remake their roster for the future, the Wizards have a number of players that will be in demand on the trade market, which is starting to heat up, just over six weeks from the trade deadline.

Here, a look at five players that could be moved from DC, for the right price:

Kyle Kuzma

This sounds insane, as the team just signed Kuz to a 4-year, $90M contract this past summer, but with a full-out rebuild in place, the Wizards need to pick up some good assets, and Kuzma is likely the best bet to do so. Yahoo Sports NBA Insider Jake Fischer notes that Washington should be able to land a first-round pick for Kuzma.

Tyus Jones

Ja Morant's former backup is having a nice season statistically in his first year with the Wiz, though he's on an expiring $14.5M contract and will become an unrestricted free agent at season's end. He's averaging career highs of 12.3 points, 5.4 assists and 42.6% shooting from three.

Deni Avdija

The former top-10 pick is also having a career year as a starter for the first time, averaging 11.4 points and 4.0 assists along with 5.6 rebounds. He is also newly-signed, to a four-year, $55 million contract extension starting this season.

Big man Daniel Gafford (11 pts, 7.5 boards) and forward Corey Kispert (11.2 points) are also having decent seasons, and would also be in demand on the trade market. Gafford is signed for 3 seasons including this one at a reasonable $13.3M, while Kispert has two years left at a $4M AAV before becoming an RFA.
