Raptors & Kings Linked In Blockbuster Trade Rumor

While Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby remain the big trade pieces on the Toronto Raptors roster, with several teams interested, the latest rumor has the Raps trying to secure up-and-coming talent Keegan Murray from the Sacramento Kings.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports:

Now, more than ever, league personnel believe Toronto will be willing to part with at least one of their core players, most likely Siakam, especially after the Raptors saw Fred VanVleet walk in free agency. For Sacramento to do business with Toronto, the Raptors are expected to seek sweet-shooting Keegan Murray in exchange for either of their talented forwards.

Murray was the No. 4 overall pick by the Kings in the 2022 NBA Draft, and is averaging 13.8 points and 5.6 rebounds in this, his sophomore season, though his three-point shot has yet to click this year, sitting at 30% (last season, he shot over 41% from beyond the arc).

But Fischer says the Kings aren't very inclined to deal Murray, as they've spoken of him "as a critical swing piece in their lineup between bookends Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox."

But for Masai Ujiri in Toronto, who sit at 10-14 this season, just clinging to the final Play-In spot at this point, it certainly seems like he finally has to make a move at this year's trade deadline. “Toronto’s going to be forced to make a decision,” said one rival GM.
