Knicks Pull Off Blockbuster Moves With Pistons

The New York Knicks have just added a ton of shooting to the roster acquiring both Bojan Bogdanovic and old friend Alec Burks from the Detroit Pistons in a pair of trades that includes Quentin Grimes and Evan Fournier.

The two trades were announced minutes apart, but combined, have Burks and Bogdanovic going to New York, while Grimes, Fournier, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono and two future second-round picks go to the Pistons.

The 34-year-old veteran Bogdanovic has been in high demand around the league since last season, when it was apparent that Detroit did not need him going forward. He's averaging over 20 points and shooting over 41% from three for the second straight season.

Burks is shooting 40.1% on threes this season, and the Pistons offence was 3.2 points per 100 possessions better with the combo guard on the floor. He's averaging 12.6 points, and he returns to the Knicks after spending two seasons there from 2020-2022.

Grimes is a nice get for Detroit. He was listed before the season as the prospect with the highest ceiling on the KnicksGrimes was drafted by the Knicks with the 25th pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, though his production and minutes were down a bit in this, his third season.

Fournier is an expiring contract who is finally freed from Thibs's doghouse.
