Report: LA Lakers to be "Front of the Line" For Superstar Trade Candidate

The Los Angeles Lakers are primed to add another big name to the roster this summer, and we might be just one game away from one superstar being declared ready to move.

Donovan Mitchell, possibly, may have already played his final game with the Cleveland Cavaliers, depending on the status of his calf, as the Cavs trail the Celtics 3-1 in their best-of-7 series, and if he is indeed done in Cleveland, the Lakers will be "at the front of the line."

Jason Lloyd of The Athletic is reporting that if it's apparent that Mitchell does not want to sign an extension this summer (he'd be heading into the final year of his contract), the Cavs "will have to explore trade options — and one of the teams standing at the front of the line is the LA Lakers".

The Purple & Gold have been linked with a number of potentially available stars this offseason, including rumors of Brandon Ingram, as well as Paul George, and Trae Young

But Spida would perhaps crawl to the top of that list if he becomes available. He'd add another serious scoring threat that would make LeBron James and Anthony Davis nearly unstoppable.

The thing is, the Lakers would most certainly have to be ready to make Austin Reaves available, which they say they will only do for a "bonafide All-Star."

I think we can safely say that Mitchell qualifies as such, being a five-time All-Star.
