Top 10 NBA Free Agents Most Likely Available This Summer
With a full month still to go for teams to re-up with their pending free agents, not everyone on an expiring contract will make it to free agency. Names like LeBron James (LA Lakers), Tyrese Maxey (RFA, Philadelphia 76ers), Pascal Siakam (Indiana Pacers) and James Harden (LA Clippers) are fully expected to re-sign with their current teams (in the first three cases, to max deals).
But that's where the certainty ends, and where our list of the Top 10 potentially available free agents begins. Let's start with a rundown of the list:
- Paul George
- OG Anunoby
- Malik Monk
- DeMar DeRozan
- Klay Thompson
- Isaiah Hartenstein
- Nic Claxton
- Miles Bridges
- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
- Derrick Jones Jr.
For George, we know the drill by now: the Clippers would like to have him back, but not at a full max deal. There's at least a few teams that would be ready to swoop in.
Anunoby is likely to re-sign with the Knicks... Or is he? The latest intel suggests it might not be a slam dunk just yet.
DeRozan wants to stay in Chicago, and Klay would like to remain in Golden State, but it's uncertain if those teams are definitely ready to give them the contracts they're looking for.
The Hartenstein and Claxton deals will be interesting to watch, to see which teams with cap space are looking to spend for a big man to fill a hole in the middle.
As for Jones Jr., his playoff performance with the Finals-bound Dallas Mavericks likely means that they won't be able to afford him next season. Teams will come calling.
Honorable mentions: D'Angelo Russell, Kelly Oubre Jr., Tyus Jones.
