NBA Trade Rumors: Cavaliers To Make Blockbuster Deal

The Cleveland Cavaliers have two "untouchables" going into this offseason. That's big news, because the Cavs have a 'Big 4' that includes Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. This means, of course, that two of them are available in what would be blockbuster moves this summer.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report, in fact, suggests that Garland and Allen are "the most likely players to be traded" from this core group, and GM Koby Altman will immediately be exploring deals if Mitchell decides to commit to an extension this summer (for which he is eligible).

Garland's agent, Klutch (Rich Paul) has already warned that if Spida plans to spin his web in Cleveland for the next several years, then the backcourt won't be big enough for the two of them and the agent will demand a trade for Garland, and he's already been linked to one team.

Many teams have inquired about Allen over the years, longing for his rim-protection and defense. He also added a career-high 16.5 points per game this season, while hauling down 10.5 rebounds and blocking 1.1 per night. ESPN's NBA insider Brian Windhorst agrees that the Cavaliers will be receiving "significant" trade interest on Allen.

Not keeping the four core players together makes sense, as there was redundancy with two ball-handlers and two big men, whereas the talent could be better distributed by having better wing players and shooters in between the guards and forward/centers. When all four of Mitchell, Garland, Mobley and Allen were on the floor together this past season, as noted by Swartz, the Cavs had a meager net rating of +2.7.

Expect a blockbuster move from the Cavaliers this offseason.
