NBA Trade Rumors: Giannis Pairs Up With Wembanyama in Wild Blockbuster Proposal

The Milwaukee Bucks have begun to right the ship after a nasty start to the 2024-25 season, and after a 5-game winning streak find themselves all the way up in 5th place in the woeful Eastern Conference.

But they're still only .500, and another drop could be forthcoming at any time. If they do eventually decide to blow it up and deal two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo (as rumored earlier in the season), there's a team who could field twin freakishly long superstars by adding him, and that's the San Antonio Spurs.

Never mind the Twin Towers. How about the Twin Freaks? Greek Freak and French Freak.

It would take a wild unprecedented offer to make it happen, of course, but that's what Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley is here for, proposing this insane 9-asset swap to get Giannis to the Lone Star State.

    San Antonio Spurs receive:

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo

    Milwaukee Bucks receive:

  • Jeremy Sochan
  • Keldon Johnson
  • Malaki Branham
  • Zach Collins
  • 2025 first-round pick (top-10 protected, via CHI)
  • 2027 first-round pick (via ATL)
  • 2030 first-round pick (via DAL)
  • 2031 first-round pick (via MIN)
  • 2026 first-round pick swap (via ATL)

Would two starters and four first-rounders, plus plus, get it done to swing a trade for Giannis? That what Buckley is suggesting. The Bucks would be totally rebuilt, with Sochan and Johnson likely moving straight into the starting lineup, with a huge haul of first-round picks to move them into the future.

As for the Spurs, we're all salivating imagining what a lengthy pairing of Giannis and Victor Wembanyama would look like. Those two together would be a defensive nightmare and an offensive juggernaut for other teams to deal with. Would they really even need three other players on the floor? But keeping burgeoning star Devin Vassell in this hypothetical deal would be huge for the Spurs, while they'd still have Chris Paul and Tre Jones to run the point.

Their depth would be gone, but again, would they really need anything else? They would be an instant title contender.

This is undoubtedly the No. 1 trade we'd love to see. League Pass viewership would be off the charts for San Antonio games if this dream swap were to ever become a reality.
