Kendrick Nunn Named MVP of EuroLeague, Says It's 'More Enjoyable' Than NBA
He gets no love, it seems, from the NBA, but the former 15 point per game scorer and Rookie of the Year runner-up, Kendrick Nunn, has gotten his props overseas. The former Miami Heat, LA Laker and Washington Wizard guard has been named the EuroLeague MVP.

Nunn has averaged 21.1 PPG, 4.3 APG, 3.6 RPG and 1.03 steals for Panathinaikos this season, leading the Greek team to 3rd place in the EuroLeague, and combining with Juancho Hernangomez (20 pts, 16 reb) and other former NBAers, like Omer Yurtseven, Cedi Osman and Wenyen Gabriel, to help the team to a quarter-final victory this week.
Nunn raves about the EuroLeague competition, saying it's more enjoyable than the NBA.
"It's a totally different game... It's a war zone in basketball terms. When you go to an NBA game, it's more entertainment. You come watch, you bring friends and family to the game, things like that. It's a show. Halftime shows are amazing, but here it's more about the competition.
"It's more about the passion and actually trying to win the game," he added. "So, it's more enjoyable this way. I'm a competitive person, I think it fits me perfectly."
Nunn was undrafted in the NBA, but came into the league with the Miami Heat in 2019-20 and put up 15.3 points per game with 3.3 assists and finished second in the ROY voting that year. He had another solid year for Miami the next season, averaging 14.6 points and upping his long-range shooting to 38%. But then a knee injury wiped out his entire 2021-22 season, and he was never able to recapture his mojo in the NBA.
He's played the past two seasons with Panathinaikos.
