Now that the Milwaukee Bucks have once again taken their early playoff exit, the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo comes squarely into question... again. The Giannis trade watch is on, and we'll have a look at the three most realistic landing spots.

Miami Heat

There have long been rumors about Pat Riley wanting to get his hands on the Greek Freak, and there are a few factors that would make this a realistic fit:

  • The Heat are desperate for their next superstar after trading Jimmy Butler this season, and Riley won't rest until he gets one.
  • Miami has plenty of viable pieces they could send the Bucks: All-Star Tyler Herro, who set career-highs this season with 23.9 points and 5.5 assists, is Milwaukee-born. They also have young prospects that could grow with the Bucks, in Nikola Jokic and Jaime Jaquez Jr.
  • The Heat also have the draft capital in three tradeable first-rounders.

San Antonio Spurs

Who doesn't want to see a Giannis/Wemby pairing? ... Other than opposing teams, of course. Pairing Antetokounmpo with Victor Wembanyama would be an absolute defensive nightmare for their opponents. And the Spurs have the pieces to make this worthwhile for Milwaukee, in still-young stars like Devin Vassel and Keldon Johnson, both of whom have been at, or near, the 20-point per game mark in recent seasons.

Plus, the Spurs have plenty of first-rounders to throw in.

Brooklyn Nets

If it's draft picks the Bucks are looking for, they need look no further than Brooklyn. They have nine first-rounders available to trade. Plus, by getting them to add much-sought-after trade target Cam Johnson to the deal, the Bucks could easily flip him to acquire even more picks or young pieces.

The Nets have been said to have Giannis as their No.1 offseason priority

Let the Giannis Sweepstakes begin. Maybe.
