2 New Intriguing Teams Enter The DeMar DeRozan Sweepstakes

DeMar DeRozan is a free man. Free to choose his next NBA destination after being waived and stretched by the Sacramento Kings. There have been a number of teams rumored to be interested in the six-time All-Star, including his original home, the Toronto Raptors. There are several others that we've discussed as well.

But two new, intriguing landing spots have entered the picture, the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points.

"He's long been interested in going to the [Miami] Heat, and he's been rumored to be a player on their radar. The Golden State Warriors are a team that is going to have internal conversations about pursuing DeMar DeRozan... the Cleveland Cavaliers, if they miss out on LeBron [James], he could fit in there perfectly there next to Donovan Mitchell and James Harden."

DeRozan could be a Plan B for many teams pursuing LeBron James

Yes, DeRozan might have to wait until LeBron James makes his decision, which could be a few weeks away, unless he wants to jump the line and take one of LeBron's potential destinations out of the mix for him.

The Heat want LeBron, as do the Warriors, and the Cavs, with at least Miami and Cleveland being two of the favorites for James. DeRozan would be a Plan B for any team that doesn't get the four-time champion King James. DD obviously doesn't bring the full package that James does, but DeMar can still bring close to 20 points a game, filling it up from the mid-range.

And who knows, with the Kawhi Leonard trade now on pause for the Raptors, perhaps they get serious about bringing back their prodigal son, DeMar.
