Steph Curry's Return Timeline Revealed by Insider—And It's Not Good
Not surprisingly, the Golden State Warriors struggled without Steph Curry in their Game 2 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Semi-Final. The team scored a playoff-low for them thus far with just 93 points, in a 24-point demolition at the hands of the scrappy Wolves.
Curry is out with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain that he suffered in Game 1 of the series. How long he would be out was a mystery, until insider Shams Charania shed some light on it on Friday. And it's not the best news for Warriors fans. He says that Curry won't be back until Game 6 (if the series goes that far) — "at the earliest."
The 11-time All-Star and greatest shooter of all time hasn't been doing any basketball activity at all since the injury. "Steph Curry has really been limited to just doing treatment, and he's gonna be reevaluated on Wednesday," said Charania."Steph Curry has really been limited to just doing treatment and he's gonna be reevaluated on Wednesday..

"My understanding is that it's probably not gonna be anytime before Game 6 at the earliest... But this is the first strain of the hamstring that Steph Curry has ever had in his NBA career... He said he's never had a hamstring injury in his life."
Curry has been rejuvenated since the arrival of Jimmy Butler on the Warriors, and is averaging 22.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists while shooting 40% from long distance.
"When you're without Stephen Curry... you have to figure out exactly who goes where (in the gameplan)," said Charania, and that's what the Warriors are now trying to figure out. The first crack at it didn't go so well in Thursday's 117-93 loss.
Game 3 is Saturday night in San Francisco, followed by Game 4 on Monday and then back to Minnesota for Game 5 on Wednesday.
Fortunately for the Dubs, there will then be a four-day break until Game 6, and that might just be the time needed to get Curry back in the lineup.
