Stunning Move Projected For Kevin Durant on Trade Market
Since we know that Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns will be working togehter on a trade this offseason to send him out of the desert, we've heard all sorts of rumors for where he might be headed: the Houston Rockets, the Miami Heat, the Dallas Mavericks have all been notably mentioned.
We've now got a stunning new potential destination projected for Durant, from Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report: The Golden State Warriors. The same Warriors than KD rejected a trade to at the deadline.
We know that the Warriors will be "aggressive" this summer to enhance their roster into true championship form. And we know that Kevin Durant once won a couple of titles in Golden State with Steph Curry and Draymond Green.
Could Kevin Durant be traded back to the Warriors this summer?
The sticking point here would seem to be that huge snub at the deadline. But would he reconsider this summer? As Durant said a couple of months ago, "I just didn't want to get traded midway through the season. It was nothing against my time with the Warriors."
Buckley writes that if the Suns are interested in Golden State's draft capital and potentially some rising young talent (maybe a Brandin Podziemski, a Jonathan Kuminga (in a sign-and-trade), and/or maybe a Moses Moody, something could get done here.
He concludes by saying that "Our crystal ball thinks that's the best Phoenix can do in a Durant deal and also believes the 15-time All-Star will come around to the realization that he won't find a better hoops home than his previous digs."
What we don't know is how much the rumored feud between KD and Draymond still simmers, and how much he's willing to look past it to go for another ring with Steph?
And from the Warriors' side of things, can a championship be won on the backs of a pair of 37-year-olds (Curry & Durant) and a 36-year-old (Butler)?
