The German-born Schroder joins his 10th NBA team, and 4th in less than a year, after a season in which he split his time between the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors and Detroit Pistons. He closed well in the Motor City, and overall averaged 13.1 points and 5.4 assists on the year.
The Kings had a tumultuous season in 2024-25, trading their All-Star point guard De’Aaron Fox, adding wing scorere Zach LaVine, and firing head coach Mike Brown. They wound up missing the playoffs with a 40-42 record.
Schroder will now work as the primary playmaker for the likes of LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis (when the multi-talented center isn't doing the playmaking himself).
