Shocking NBA Rumor: Source Says LeBron James Wants OUT of LA
There was some buzz around LeBron James' future with the Los Angeles Lakers after he opted into his player option for the 2025-26 season, while his agent, Rich Paul, at the same time said that LeBron needs to evaluate his future.
Now, we're being told by plugged-in insider John Gambadoro that LeBron wants OUT of LA and that the Lakers want him GONE.
I was told this after the playoffs by someone close to Lebron- Said "Lebron wants out of LA and they want him gone" "Watch Game 1 how disinterested Lebron was" Now MOST people on here know that my sources are not the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon.

"Watch Game 1 (of the playoffs), how disinterested LeBron was," was one of Gambo's comments.
Gambo has sources, but even if he didn’t, Reeves just turned down an extension and LeBron is “exploring his options”. It’s pretty obvious Gambo’s assessment is spot on.

In addition, insider Brian Windhorst, who has always been a LeBron whisperer, says he's learned over the last 72 hours to be somewhat open to the possibility of a LeBron James trade. There were no discussions about an extension, and the Lakers are viewing him as "an expiring contract."
"My conversations over the last 3 days have crystallized that the Lakers are essentially viewing LeBron as an expiring contract... I'm just unlocking the door because I am not as convinced as before if it's impossibility."

On whether to slam a door shut on any LeBron trade talk, he said "I'm just unlocking the door because I am not as convinced as before if it's impossibility."
The Lakers are clearly Luka Doncic's team going into the future, and although the 40-year-old James is still a force like no other 40-year-old has ever been before in the NBA, it sounds like the LeBron camp is considering how to best give him a chance to win another title before it's too late.
And that just might not be in LA.
Meanwhile, the Lakers did make another move on Wednesday that may improve the team's chances this season.
