Bucks Have 5 Trade Targets on Their Radar
The Milwaukee Bucks are 12-18, three games back of even a Play-In spot. So which way are they going to go this season? Try to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo, who seems to have one foot out the door, or finally cave, and trade him for a rebuild?
According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, "all indications continue to point to Giannis remaining in Milwaukee through the 2025-26 season at the least."
Which means they're looking to put more pieces around him and center Myles Turner to try to give the team a chance to win this year. With that, he names five trade targets the Bucks are looking at:
- Jerami Grant, Portland Trail Blazers forward
- Robert Williams III, Portland center
- Zach LaVine, Sacramento Kings G/F
- Andrew Wiggins, Miami Heat forward
- Corey Kispert, Washington Wizards wing
Grant seems to be the No. 1 target for the Bucks. But add in Williams, and Milwaukee could be looking at a big improvement.
"Some believe the Bucks, who already have a working relationship with Portland dating back to their Damian Lillard trade, have a path to landing both Grant and Robert Williams III as impactful trade deadline additions to improve the team on both ends of the floor."
As for LaVine, we reported on Milwaukee's consideration of him as a "difference maker", and they have done extensive research on him, confirms Siegel.
Wiggins has been on the Bucks' radar going back to the summer, but the Heat seemingly have no intention of waving the white flag on this season, and, accordingly, are unlikely to trade him.
Kispert, as Siegel notes, is a tier down from the previous names on the list, though, when healthy, he is an elite, high-volume spot-up three-point shooter with excellent off-ball movement.
Giannis is currently still out with a calf strain, so we'll have to see where the Bucks are at when he returns sometime in the new year.
