NBA Trade Rumors: 3 Teams Now Top Suitors for Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga

After yet another DNP-CD, he's undoubtedly the No. 1 expected trade chip to move in the coming weeks, and Jonathan Kuminga's potential destinations could be coming down to one of three spots, per various reports.

There's no doubt he will be the first big name to move, and it could come as soon as January 15th, the date he becomes eligible. “Golden State wants to find upgrades on its roster, and Kuminga’s $22.5 million salary could be used in bigger trade scenarios,” Shams Charania recently reported.

Chicago Bulls

According NBA insider Marc Steinthe Chicago Bulls have "registered interest" in Kuminga in the past (h/t Bleacher Report), and have even engaged in talks with the Warriors previously, so they will be a team to watch, as they continue their quasi-rebuild.

Apparently, there's a belief inside the Bulls organization that the former lottery pick "fits the Bulls’ athletic, youth-driven developmental arc", writes Alder Almo of heavy.com

New Orleans Pelicans

"The New Orleans Pelicans, in many ways, are front and center in this discussion," writes Sam Amick in The Athletic.

"For quite some time now, the Warriors have been open about their desire to acquire the Pelicans’ Trey Murphy III."

That will take some serious discussions to come up with a fair return, and Kuminga could be a good starting point.

Sacramento Kings

Yes, the Kings have been tied to the Warriors' beleaguered forward going all the back to the early summer. "The Kings are widely expected to revisit their offseason interest," writes Amick.

The Kings' season has spiralled out of control almost as badly as the aforementioned Pelicans. All of their big names are on the trade block, including Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine. Could any of them be involved in a Kuminga deal?

January 15th is the date to watch.
