Breaking: Big Developement in Jonathan Kuminga Drama with Warriors

Today is the day that Jonathan Kuminga became eligible to be traded. And today is the day that Kuminga officially DEMANDED a trade from the Golden State Warriors.

He has been completely dropped from head coach Steve Kerr's rotation, being benched for 13 straight Warriors games, and 16 of the last 17.

It's expected that a trade will take place sooner than later, though the deadline is still three weeks away, and there is no deal imminent.

The LA Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks are among the most likely destinations.

The problem is, on most fronts, the fact that those teams don't have the players in return that the Warriors are interested in. A three-team trade (at least) will be necessary. Keon Ellis from the Kings, is one name that's an exception to that rule.

Kuminga signed a two-year contract with Golden State as a restricted free agent back in October worth up to $48.5 million with a team option for 2026-27.

He is the former No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. In his 18 games played this season, he's averaged 11.8 points per game, his lowest mark in three years. Given his sporadic and erratic usage, however, it's not surprising.
