Warriors Close to Reaquiring Championship Wing
According to a report from insider Jake Fischer, the Golden State Warriors may be close to requiring a forward who helped them win their last NBA championship. Fischer says the Warriors and Miami Heat are talking about a deal that would bring Andrew Wiggins back to San Francisco.
The Warriors and Heat have been discussing a trade that would send Andrew Wiggins back to Golden State and Jonathan Kuminga to Miami, per @JakeLFischer

“There’s absolutely some type of framework that’s being discussed—and has been discussed—between Golden State and Miami to send Jonathan Kuminga to the Heat and bring Andrew Wiggins back to the Warriors," said Fischer.
Kuminga, of course, has been on the trade block for the Warriors since the summer. He became eligible to be dealt as of January 15, and immediately demanded out of Golden State. The 23-year-old has only played 20 games this season, as he's spent most of the year pinned to the end of the bench by head coach Steve Kerr.
Wiggins spent parts of six seasons with the Warriors, helping them to win their last title in 2022. But he was traded to Miami as part of the five-team deal that landed Jimmy Butler in Golden State a year ago. Butler, however, is now out for the rest of the campaign after tearing his ACL. The Warriors are in scramble mode to try to rescue their season.
Wiggins is in the third year of a 4-year, $109 million contract, with $30 million owed for next season. While the Warriors don't want to take on unwanted salary in any Kuminga deal, the expiring Wiggins contract would fit their needs.
