Breaking: Jeremy Sochan is Newest NBA Free Agent After Spurs Departure

Jeremy Sochan has been more than frustrated with his lack of playing time with the San Antonio Spurs this season. He was declared "not with the team" earlier on Wednesday, and now it's official: He is being waived by the Spurs, and will become the NBA's newest free agent.

Sochan was a valued part of the Spurs' rotation the previous three seasons, and was a starter for much of that time. But his minutes have dropped significantly this season (to 12.5 per game), and he has seemed to be the forgotten man in head coach Mitch Johnson's rotation.

Now the versatile, high-energy defender can find himself a new team to hook up with. His physical defense and energetic playmaking will likely make him a wanted man on the open market.
