Report: Bucks' True Feelings About Trading Giannis Antetokounmpo Revealed
Some teams, like the Miami Heat, made determined efforts to try to pry Giannis Antetokounmpo away from the Milwaukee Bucks. This, we know. But were the Bucks serious about considering the trade offers?
According to insider Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Milwaukee never made a counteroffer to the Heat for Antetokounmpo.
Ultimately, a source said Milwaukee never told the Heat what would be enough to make them say “yes.” (At least one other suitor indicated the same.)
The Bucks considered Miami’s offer, but the belief is that Milwaukee said no because Antetokounmpo never strongly demanded a trade and the Bucks believe they can convince him to stay this summer.
Nevertheless, the Heat are more than aware of an angry fanbase in Miami that is getting tired of the team not landing another big fish to get them back into contention.
"It’s why another attempt to acquire Antetokounmpo will be made this summer, according to a source," writes Jackson.

The Heat are currently 28-27 and in the 8-seed in the Eastern Conference, a Play-In spot, but not a real threat to make any playoff noise.
The Bucks, of course, are far worse off, at 21-30, and in the 12th seed.
If they continue to flounder through the rest of the season, there's still a chance that the Heat (or another marquee team) could convince Giannis it's time to go, and give the Bucks enough of a package to bite, come the offseason.
