Breaking: Milwaukee Bucks Name New Head Coach

The Milwaukee Bucks have made a big move on Thursday, naming Taylor Jenkins as their new head coach.

It's a homecoming of sorts for Jenkins, who was a Bucks assistant in 2018-19.

He spent the last six years at the helm of the Memphis Grizzlies before being fired a month ago in a shocking move with only nine games left in the regular season. He posted a 250-214 record in Memphis.

Jenkins replaces Doc Rivers, who was let go after the season, a dismal campaign which saw the Bucks miss the playoffs, following three consecutive first-round ousters.

Per Shams Charania, Jenkins was seen as the top available coach on the market, citing his "player development pedigree, tenure as a culture-setter and someone who drives competitiveness," as the reasons the Bucks made him their top target.

Of course, the biggest question now is whether Jenkins will be able to sell enough of a "culture" change to convince superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to stick around and give it another go in Milwaukee.

Up to now, all signs pointed to Giannis being traded this offseason.
