3 Orlando Magic Who Shouldn't Return Next Season

The Orlando Magic suffered a meltdown of epic proportions in this year's first round, blowing a 3-1 series lead, and a 60-38 halftime lead in Game 6 with a chance to finish off the No. 1 seed Detroit Pistons.

The team went on to fire head coach Jamahl Mosely not long after being sent packing, but there should be plenty more changes to this roster in the offseason.

Let's have a look at three players who shouldn't return for next season for Orlando.

Moritz Wagner

The 6'11" center spends much more time in street clothes than on the floor. His frequent unavailability makes him an asset not worth keeping around. The older of the Wagner brothers has been available for just 66 games total over the past two seasons. With Goga Bitadze as the backup to Wendell Carter Jr., the Magic are set at the 'five'. Wagner is a free agent, and the Magic should just let him find another opportunity elsewhere.

Jett Howard

The Magic have decided not to pick up their club option at $7.3 million for next season on the 22-year-old. The No. 11 selection in the 2023 Draft is looking like a bust at this point, being unable to crack the rotation in any meaningful way in his three seasons. He played just three minutes total in the playoffs this year, which was one less than the four minutes he got on the court for last postseason. He's gone.

Jevon Carter

Another free agent, who, at the age of 30, Orlando is unlikely to bring back. He did a decent job after being signed on the buyout market in February, providing some veteran leadership and depth in the backcourt when injuries had thinned out the roster. But it's unlikely, with their crowded backcourt, that the Magic will bring Carter back in free agency.
