Breaking: Huge Move for Dallas Mavericks & Jason Kidd
Masai Ujiri took over the Dallas Mavericks just two weeks ago, and he's already made a huge imprint on the team, cutting ties with head coach Jason Kidd.

It's a bit of a shocking move, as Kidd still had four years and over $40 million left on his contract. It's been a five-year run for Kidd in the coach's role in Dallas.
The Mavs will now immediately begin a comprehensive search for their next head coach.

“We have high expectations for this franchise and a responsibility to build a basketball organization capable of sustained championship contention. We will conduct a thorough, disciplined search for our next head coach,” said Ujiri after the news was announced.
It's the sixth coaching change in the NBA since the end of the season. The Mavs now join the Chicago Bulls, Portland Trail Blazers, and Orlando Magic on the list of teams looking for a new coach.
In an interesting twist, the Magic were a team that had interest in Kidd back in 2021 when they last had a coaching vacancy, reports Marc Stein. While Kidd went to Dallas, Orlando hired Jamahl Mosely, who, ironically, was also fired this month. Do the Magic come back to Kidd now?
Mosely has already landed on his feet, inking a new deal with the New Orleans Hornets.
