Kawhi Leonard's Future in Jeopardy as NBA Interviews Him Over Alleged Cap Circumvention Scandal
The Kawhi Leonard/LA Clippers alleged cap-circumvention scandal is finally nearing a conclusion. Among the potential league penalties could be a forfeiture of Kawhi's contract and/or the loss of draft picks for the Clippers, in addition to massive fines.
The latest important update in the NBA's probe has them interviewing both Leonard and his infamous "business advisor", Uncle Dennis (Robertson).

NBA commissioner Adam Silver addressed the issue this week while attending The Finals. He said the league is "close to the point now where I think we need to wrap this up." Silver explained that the Clippers need "to understand what situation they are going to be operating under, and so do the other 29 teams."
From here, that sounds like there will be some kind of punishment. Just how significant, remains to be seen.
Kawhi & 'Uncle Dennis' interviewed by NBA, along with Clippers owner
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and other team executives have also been interviewed, as have the third-party now-defunct company that's wrapped up in all this. The Clippers & Kawhi have denied any wrongdoing.
It's been an ongoing controversy the entire season, since the story first broke with allegations of a $28 million "no-show" marketing endorsement deal Leonard signed with a tree-planting and carbon credit company called Aspiration, which was heavily funded by Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
that the team circumvented the salary cap to compensate Leonard outside of his standard NBA contract using funds through Aspiration.
If Kawhi's contract were to be voided, he'd presumably enter free agency, which would swap out all the trade rumors that have floated around in exchange for a free agent frenzy for the two-time Finals MVP.
