Lakers Sign Free Agent Defensive Wing

The LA Lakers have added more perimeter defense to the roster, signing free agent wing  Matisse Thybulle to a one-year deal.

The Lakers had been after Thybulle for some time, and they land him with a   $3.3 million deal. 

The addition comes after another strong defensive addition by the Purple & Gold, having added 6'9" forward Ziaire Williams earlier this month.

As for Thybulle, a two-time All-Defensive team member, he can shoot it from three, and led the NBA in steals and deflections per 36 minutes last season (minimum 20 games). He shot 41.8% from long distance over the last two years across 45 games.

The former Portland Trail Blazer and Philadelphia 76er, he's played 7 NBA seasons, averaging 5.0 points per game and 1.6 steals throughout his career. 

 The Lakers have also been interested in signing unrestricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga as well, but those talks have not progressed, according to Shams Charania.
