A Kevin Durant/Steph Curry Reunion 'Not Out Of The Question'

The Golden State Warriors are once again hoping to recruit Kevin Durant back to the Bay Area to reunite with the team. According to a report by Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Dubs are "monitoring Durant's situation with the Houston Rockets."

The Warriors tried to reacquire Durant at the 2025 trade deadline, but he wasn't interested in going back to Golden State at that time. Would things change if the Rockets aren't a real contender again this season? Siegel discusses:

Sources say the organization has not completely moved on from the idea of one day reuniting Curry with former Warrior and two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant. Lacob and the Warriors would welcome Durant back with open arms, much like they were prepared to do in 2025 before he and his business partner Rich Kleiman stopped the trade deadline deal in its tracks.

Siegel says it wasn't because Durant had anything against the Warriors, but he was still looking for stability in Phoenix at the time (we know how that turned out). 

There have been rumblings about KD now getting restless in Houston. The Rockets have warded off all trade suitors this summer. But...

"If by some chance he were to grow unsettled in Houston and decide not to finish his career with the Rockets, the Warriors would have interest in a reunion. Whether or not that's something Durant would personally want is the big question there is no answer to."

Durant stunned the basketball world by leaving the OKC Thunder back in 2016 and joining forces with Curry & the strongest team in the league in Golden State. They would go on to win back-to-back titles in 2017 & '18, before losing in 2019 to the Toronto Raptors, and KD then decided to move on yet again.
