Report: Celtics Have Pitched Trade To Warriors For Steph Curry

In a stunning report from Sports Illustrated, it's been suggested that the Boston Celtics have called the Golden State Warriors, pitching a deal that would bring Steph Curry to Beantown.

John Karalis of SI writes that several recent reports indicate that there's "a crack in the foundation of the Curry-era Warriors," and due to the first-ever rumblings about things being "less than perfect" between Steph and the Dubs, Celtics boss Brad Stevens should try to see if he can recruit the game's greatest shooter to Boston.

There's no doubt Brad Stevens has already been on the phone with the Warriors brass to pitch a deal if they want one. 

Certainly, for Stevens, after the Nico Harrison-type of impression he's left on the fanbase after trading Jaylen Brown to the arch-rival Philadelphia 76ers for... ahem, Paul George and a couple of first-rounders, he needs something like bringing in Curry to put him back in the fans' good graces.  

We don't know what any proposed package would consist of, but Karalis goes on to make a pitch of his own, positing that George, the first-round picks acquired from Philadelphia, and Sam Hauser be offered up for Curry.  

Obviously, this is not anything that's close, and the Warriors' appetite for trading Steph (or Steph's, for that matter, of going elsewhere), is not known. 

But it's a fun exercise to go through, nevertheless.
