Trail Blazers Sign Knicks NBA Champion Forward
The Portland Trail Blazers have added a free agent forward to their roster, signing a player who has a championship ring from a small role with the New York Knicks last season.

It's a non-guaranteed deal for Jeremy Sochan, per Sean Highkin. Sochan will be with the Blazers in training camp and compete for a roster spot.
Granted, Sochan did not play a big role in the Knicks' NBA title, having played just 26 minutes in total over the course of the entire playoffs. He averaged 3.3 minutes in his eight postseason appearances.
Sohan was a major part of the San Antonio Spurs rotation for three years, until he was waived in February this year and signed with the Knicks. He averaged well over 25 minutes a game for San Antonio from 2022 through early 2026, and was a regular double-digit scorer, at 10.4 ppg, while grabbing 5.6 rebounds and dishing 2.6 assists per night.
It's a one-year deal for him in Portland, where the 23-year-old will likely have an important role off the bench.
He plays with energy and intensity on the defensive end, and is a versatile defender, able to guard multiple positions due to his 6'9" frame, long wingspan and agility. He also shows some flashes of playmaking creativity from the forward spot.
