Another Trade Candidate Emerges From The Knicks
The New York Knicks could have another important roster decision to make as the NBA season unfolds.
Karl-Anthony Towns recently emerged as a potential trade candidate amid reports of frustration surrounding the Knicks’ decision to shut down extension talks.
However, Towns might not be the only Knicks player whose future is in question.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, rival teams continue to view guard Miles McBride as yet another potential trade candidate.

“One more important Knicks topic: Rival teams continue to describe McBride as a likely trade candidate as the season unfolds given the uncertainty surrounding his own Knicks future,” Fischer reported.
McBride has established himself as a valuable defensive-minded guard who can contribute energy, perimeter defense, and timely scoring. Last season, he averaged a career-high 12 ppg and 26.3 minutes a night. His ability to pressure opposing ball handlers and provide minutes in the backcourt made him a crucial part of the Knicks' guard rotation.
McBride, however, is playing on an expiring deal, and the Knicks must determine whether they can reach an extension agreement before potentially losing him in free agency. With the team pausing all extension negotiations (that includes Towns, Josh Hart and McBride) until later in the season, that uncertainty could make Deuce a more realistic trade option.
Also feeding into the situation is that New York also faces significant financial pressure as it attempts to keep its championship core together while trying to stay out of the dreaded second apron, which they are dangerously close to.
For now, McBride remains a player to watch as the trade market develops. With Towns' contract situation also creating uncertainty, New York could face some difficult decisions later this season as it attempts to contend for a back-to-back championship.
