He left a gig overseas with an NBA opt-out in his contract, in order to pursue a job with the Denver Nuggets this fall. Unfortunately, 7-year veteran Lonnie Walker IV has been waived by the Nuggets.
Walker made two preseason appearances for Denver.

He had opted out of his contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv in August for a chance to make Denver’s roster this season, but it did not come to pass for the high-flying shooting guard.

As a result of being cut loose by the Nuggets, it was also announced today that Walker has hired Misko Raznatovic as his new agent. He is now expected to try to find Walker another job overseas.

The 27-year-old is a former first-round pick (18th overall, 2017 NBA Draft) of the San Antonio Spurs, and spent four seasons there, working himself into a dependable part of the rotation, averaging 12 ppg by the time he was done there.

He went on to suit up for the LA Lakers, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, spending the last two years playing for Zalgiris and Maccabi overseas. He last played in the NBA for the Sixers in 2024-25, averaging 12.4 points in 20 games.

"Skywalker" brings energy, athleticism and a spark off the bench, is able to finish well above the rim and is elite at filling the lane on the fast break.
