Domantas Sabonis Wants Out Of Sacramento, 'Chucker' Teammate The Cause

As the Sacramento Kings continue to go boldly into their rebuild, 3-time All-Star center Domantas Sabonis has had enough and wants out of SacTown.
This latest word, from Tim MacMahon of ESPN, does not come as a surprise.  We heard over the weekend that Sabonis does not enjoy playing with lottery pick rookie point guard Darius Acuff Jr.

According to Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, Sabonis doesn’t appear to enjoy Acuff Jr.’s play style and the Kings could be willing to part ways with Sabonis via trade this season or during the summer.

Acuff has been thrown into the deep end by the Kings, given free rein to do pretty much anything his heart desires out on the floor, including shooting with abandon (i.e. as much as he likes). The 7th overall pick in this year's draft has taken a league-leading 24 shots per game, hitting on 39.6% of them. And from beyond the arc, he's hoisting up about 10 three-point attempts per night, but making them at only a 32.2% clip.

The Kings are off to an 0-6 start.

As Deveney notes, Acuff's wild chucking "is only hurting the value (Sabonis) might have on the market, which was limited to being with...

"He is not enthused about playing with a ball-dominant guard like Acuff. But getting a first-rounder for him would be a major score, and a longshot."
