Kevin Durant and Scottie Pippen Are Throwing Verbal Haymakers!

Scottie Pippen is delivering the trash talk big-time in a new featured GQ article. And he isn't letting anyone off the hook. It all started with Pip weighing in on the Ben Simmons debacle. First, he blamed Simmons' coach, Doc Rivers, believing he "set him up for failure" by refusing to take him out of the game:

As for Simmons himself, Pippen says that, aside from being a poor shooter, his biggest crime is not wanting to be humiliated. "He didn’t even wanna cross halfcourt with the basketball because he was so afraid of being humiliated going to that foul line," says Pippen. "That’s why he didn’t try to make that dunk at the end of the game."

He says the biggest difference between Simmons and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who's also a poor shooter according to Pippen, is that Giannis doesn't mind being humiliated:

But then, Pippen took on Kevin Durant. He says KD "doesn't have what LeBron has."

Pippen went on: "A two-time MVP. In the Finals. [Laughs.] That’s good when you’ve got Steph Curry leading the troops. But when you’re leading the troops, you gotta know how to lead and win. And KD, as great as his offense was, it turned out to be his worst enemy because he didn’t know how to play team basketball."

Durant shot back on Twitter:

Certainly, this won't be the last we hear of this. Pippen had a lot more to say in the wide-ranging article, including the subject of his relationship with Michael Jordan. You can find the entire GC article here. Buckle up, it's a wild ride.
