Kevin Durant Shoots Down 3-Team Trade

The Timberwolves are interested in trading for Kevin Durant. But the feeling isn't mutual.

Kevin Durant seemingly wants the New York Knicks or the San Antonio Spurs, but we've heard that neither team is interested in Kevin Durant. But one team that does want KD does not seem to have Durant's approval.

According to Matt Moore of Action Network, the Minnesota Timberwolves tried to put together a three-team deal with the Phoenix Suns and the Brooklyn Nets that would land KD in the Twin Cities, but Durant "shot it down."

“League sources have said the Nets were brought in as a potential third team in a deal construct, which would have helped move money and contracts to help both teams reshape their rosters," wrote Moore. He suggests that Nets center Nic Claxton was part of the return going to Phoenix.

"But then KD did what is his right, and sent out word that he doesn’t want to play (in Minnesota).”

But there are a number of other rumors, as Minnesota seems to be the most aggressive team in the Durant trade sweepstakes at the moment.

Evan Sidery suggests that the Suns covet recent No. 8 pick Rob Dillingham as a key piece in any return from Minnesota.

The T-Wolves swept the Suns out of the playoffs in the first round of the playoffs in 2024. Phoenix didn't even make the dance this season, while the Wolves went to the Western Conference Finals. They feel that landing Durant could put them over the top, but it doesn't sound like the 15-time All-Star and all-time great wants to join up with his good pal Anthony Edwards.

Some Timberwolves fans don't seem to mind.
