NBA Key Dates Revealed For The 2021-2022 Season

After two pandemic altered seasons, the NBA is set to return to normalcy. The league recently revealed their key dates for the 2021-2022 campaign and it feels like a blast from the past.

Free agents will be allowed to sign with teams starting on August 6, and the summer league will make its return on August 8. These are the only marquee events that have an adjusted date based on the timeline of this past season. 

As for the start of the season, training camp will kick off on September 28, followed by opening night on October 19. The season will end on June 23, 2022, with the NBA draft — a date reminiscent of years past.

Other notable dates include the Play-in Tournament, which was announced on Tuesday that it would be implemented into the 2021-2022 schedule. Similar to this year, teams slated seventh through 10th in their respective conferences will compete for the No. 7 and No. 8 seed. The tournament will take place from April 12-15.
