Rumor: Brandon Ingram to the Heat

The Miami Heat have some big decisions to make this offseason, with restricted free agents Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn, not to mention the status of Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal, to play a large part in any moves the team makes. But a young star forward has already made overtures to accepting a trade to Miami.

Brandon Ingram has established himself as a star in this league, averaging nearly 24 PPG for the second straight season with the Pelicans. But a source is reporting that Ingram "would welcome a deal to the Miami Heat", according to NBA insider Adam Borai

And while the Heat are still in the chase for free agent Kyle Lowry, they could be in store for a fair-sized roster upheaval, with only 5 players under contract for the upcoming season. An overhaul with Ingram as the centerpiece would be an intriguing move for the Heat.

Borai has also noted that one of those Heat RFAs, Duncan Robinson, has some "BIG fans in New Orleans", so perhaps this is the start of a sign-and-trade megadeal.

But, as Borai notes, Ingram has four seasons left on his contract, and it will take quite the substantial offer to pry him loose from The Big Easy.
