Report: Westbrook Wanted Beal to Leave Wizards Together

Reports have surfaced suggesting the Washington Wizards could have looked extremely different this season as apparently Russell Westbrook was trying to convince Bradley Beal to also request a trade.

According to The Athletic's Bill Oram, Westbrook approached Wizards owner Ted Leonsis to be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and before he did so, tried to convince Beal to also approach ownership for a deal.

Beal of course, has not requested a trade and opted against Westbrook's request. He was however supportive of Westbrook leaving for his hometown Lakers and welcomes in some fresh faces to the ball club.

Expectation at the moment is that Beal will decline his $37.3 million player option after this season and open up the bidding war to interested teams. He's coming off a stellar season which saw him score 31.3 points per game. At this point the Miami Heat are reportedly near the top of his preferred destinations, but that could change three times before the end of the week.

Wizards fans...how we feeling about Westbrook trying to steal Beal from the franchise?
