Dallas Mavericks Trade Rumor Denied by Mark Cuban

The Dallas Mavericks were reportedly shopping forward Kristaps Porzingis, however if you ask their owner Mark Cuban, he's going to tell you  to kick rocks.

Cuban was not shy and strongly denied any trade rumor involving Porzingis and was quick to come to the forwards defense about his tenure in Dallas. Cuban spoke with NBA.com's Mark Medina and had this to say about the latest trade buzz surrounding his basketball team:

That's not true. Why would I do that at all? Trades like that, you always end up further behind. When you trade a superstar, you never get the best end of it. "I've always believed that KP hasn't played his best basketball yet. Now you're seeing why we didn't trade him. He's a great player. He's a good dude. All of my experiences with him have been positive. So why would we do that? But that's NBA Twitter and that's Mavs Twitter. That's what they do. They're probably trying to trade Luka right now.

Some would certainly question if Porzingis and the word superstar should be in the same sentence. The Mavs have dealt with injuries this season and are 9-7 on the year. Porzingis has enjoyed himself a bounce back season and has put up some big numbers since returning from an early injury, averaging 23.1 points per game along with 9.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

While the Mavericks are expected to be active closer to the trade deadline, don't expect to see their 26-year-old 'superstar' traded anytime soon.
