Report: Klay Thompson To Return Before Christmas

The Golden State Warriors are torching the rest of the NBA so far this season, off to an 11-1 start. The news gets even worse for the rest of the league, as they're also close to adding 5-time All-Star Klay Thompson to the lineup.

According to NBA insider Jordan Schultz, sources say that Thompson is in "great shape" and making "steady progress", with a return only 5-6 weeks away. Warriors GM Bob Myers says Klay is currently playing 4-on-4, and after the move to 5-on-5, the final step would be a return to action.

The Warriors go on a long road trip at the beginning of December, and the goal would be for Thompson to rejoin the team when they return home. The Warriors have already said that his return would come in front of the home fans in San Francisco. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that they're targeting a Dec. 20th home game against the Sacramento Kings.

The 31-year-old Thompson has missed the last two full seasons, recovering from devastating ACL and Achilles injuries. Before he went down in the 2019 Finals, he had established himself as one of the top shooters of this generation, making a devastating "Splash Brother" pairing with Steph Curry.
