Knicks And Hawks Strike A Deal

The Atlanta Hawks have traded Cam Reddish, Solomon Hill, and a 2025 second-round pick to the New York Knicks for a protected 2022 first-round pick from the Charlotte Hornets and Kevin Knox.

Like we just reported, the Knicks were heavily interested in Reddish. Now, they have officially secured one of their primary trade targets, and this should be the beginning for them.

Reddish wanted to be traded to a team that would give him a bigger role. With the Knicks, he will receive just that. In 34 games this season, the 2019 tenth overall pick is averaging 11.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest. This move also gives him the chance to reunite with former Duke teammate RJ Barrett.

Hill has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, so one has to wonder if another move could be on the way for Atlanta. They now have an extra roster spot open from this. In 13 games with the Hawks this season, Hill averaged 0.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists.

The first-round pick from the Hornets has the following protections: top 18 in 2022, top 16 in 2023, and top 14 in 2024 and 2025. As for Knox, the 2018 first-round pick has averaged 3.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.2 assists this season with the Knicks.

Upon first glance, this looks like a major win for the Knicks. We will have to wait and see how this deal ages, though.
