Pistons Keeping Guard Around

The Detroit Pistons have signed guard Cassius Stanley to another 10-day contract.

This is the third time that the Pistons have done this with Stanley. With this, it's fair to say that they have been impressed by his play thus far. In seven games with the team, he has averaged 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists. With this, he also has played 20.3 minutes per game, so he is getting a lot of chances to shine with the struggling Pistons.

Stanley played last season as a rookie with the Indiana Pacers. In 22 games, he averaged 1.5 points and 0.8 rebounds. He also received far less playing time, as he averaged just over three minutes per game.

The Pistons currently have Jerami Grant and Luka Garza in health and safety protocols, so it makes sense that they have opted to keep Stanley around for added depth. Time will tell what they end up doing with him once this 10-day deal expires, but until then, he will continue to try to play well with Detroit.
