Brooklyn Nets Waive Guard

The Brooklyn Nets have waived Jevon Carter.

The Nets needed to get rid of someone to open up a roster spot for Goran Dragic. Carter is the player who Brooklyn viewed as expendable to allow this to occur, so the 26-year-old will now be hoping to land a contract with another team from here.

This was Carter's first season with the Nets, but now his time with the team is already coming to a close. In 46 games with the organization, he averaged 3.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists. He was primarily utilized as a role player and averaged about 12.0 minutes per contest. Overall, he had some decent moments with them but is worth losing for Dragic.

Carter could get some interest around the league. This is especially true if a team is in need of another guard on their roster. He does come with a good amount of overall NBA experience, so that helps his case, too. In 203 career games between the Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, and Nets, he has averaged 4.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. Let's see if he adds a new team to his resume shortly.
