NBA Rumors: Suns Targeting Eric Gordon

Add the Phoenix Suns to the long list of suitors for the Houston Rockets' resurgent Eric Gordon. The Rockets are asking for a high price—a first round draft pick—but that apparently hasn't scared off the Suns, who are looking for a wing upgrade, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

"Eric Gordon has been linked by league personnel as a possible target (for the Suns)," according to Fischer. A trade to Phoenix would pair Gordon back up with his backcourt mate Chris Paul from his Houston days of 2017-2019.

The Rockets have turned down many suitors over the past few weeks, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have essentially backed off because of the asking price, preferring to deal second-rounders.

At 33, Gordon is having a renaissance year from behind the arc, hitting on 43% of his threes, up a full 10% from last season's 33% pace, and the previous season's 31.7%.

The Suns are also pushing hard to unload the injured Dario Saric, who has been out all year since tearing his ACL in the Finals last summer. Saric has one year remaining after this one on his 3-year, $27M contract.
