Former Championship Coach To Interview For Jazz Job

The Utah Jazz are widening their search for a new head coach, after Quin Snyder stepped down earlier in the week. One of the latest names to enter the fray is a former NBA championship coach.

According to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel and current Jazz assistant Lamar Skeeter are both expected to get interviews with Danny Ainge and Co.

Vogel steered the Lakers to the Larry O'Brien Trophy in the bubble, in 2020, but things veered off course after that. The Lakers lost in the first round to the Phoenix Suns in 2021, then missed the playoffs altogether this past season.

The 48-year-old Vogel is reported to have also interviewed with the Charlotte Hornets for their head coach opening, but he is not among the two rumored finalists that Michael Jordan has interviewed.

Skeeter has been with the Jazz in some capacity for eight years.

Other names already under consideration for the Utah job include Terry StottsAlex JensenWill HardyJohnnie BryantCharles Lee, Joe MazzullaAdrian Griffin and Kevin Young.
