Draymond Green says he 'Deserves' a Max Contract from the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are a dynasty looking to continue their reign after winning the 2021-2022 championship. Along the way, three core players make the Warriors special. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green were all drafted by the team and have looked like an unstoppable trio. Curry and Thompson are locked in for the near future but Green is looking for a max contract which he says he 'deserves.'

The Warriors have been a model organization for having drafted and developed top all-star and superstar talents. Among them, and most notably is Curry. However, Green is credited as being the utility player which makes the team function at a higher level. It could be argued that without Green, the Warriors might not have had similar success. Therefore, Green is a valuable asset to the team that even Curry would not want to separate from. According to the Athletic, Green is eligible to sign a four-year deal on August third if the Warriors are looking to keep him around.

Green was drafted by the Warriors in the second round in 2012. Since then, the organization has seen immediate success, winning four Championships in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022. Inevitably, Green has played an important role, which does not always show up on paper and according to stats. Although Green struggled in the post-season just last year his impact is enough to keep him around. If Green does not receive the max contract from the Warriors, it is believed that he might look elsewhere, where he will definitely find interest from other organizations.
